Fix Schools First: Blueprint for Achieving Learning Standards
Student learning is in major crisis within the American public school system. After years of effort invested in the education reform movement and an unbelievable amount of money, student performance remains unacceptable. In 1983, the report A Nation at Risk sounded the clarion call, outlining specific goals for education reform, which haven’t yet been met. The challenge remains the same: fix schools; do not just improve student learning. This book provides the action plan and management system that is required in order to achieve that goal. After reading this book, administrators, school board members, and principals will have a blueprint that will enable students to achieve the learning standards that have been established by the state departments of education and the local school districts.

Mr. Bowsher has put it all in one book. All of the qick fixes that will not get the job done, as well as the master plan with a step by step road map to fax all schools. (K-12) This book has unlimited references to all the ideas that are working as well as the well-intentioned political fluff that so many people are trying to do. Jack points out that money is not the problem, we just have to spend it on major reform, not band-aid fixes. This book is a “MUST” read for government officials, educators, teachers, parents, and anyone interested in fixing our educational system.
